What is how to restore tabs?

Restoring Closed Tabs: A Guide

Accidentally closed a tab or browser window and need to get it back? Here's how you can often restore your lost browsing session:

  • Using Keyboard Shortcuts: The quickest way is usually through keyboard shortcuts.

    • Ctrl + Shift + T (Windows/Linux): This command reopens the last closed tab. Repeat to reopen previously closed tabs in reverse order. See more about Windows%20shortcut.
    • Cmd + Shift + T (macOS): This performs the same function as Ctrl+Shift+T on macOS. See more about macOS%20shortcut.
  • Using Browser Menus: Most browsers have a "Recently Closed Tabs" or "Reopen Closed Tab" option in their menus.

    • Chrome: Look for "History" > "Recently Closed". See more about Chrome.
    • Firefox: Look for "History" > "Recently Closed Tabs" or "Recently Closed Windows". See more about Firefox.
    • Edge: Look for "History" > "Recently Closed". See more about Edge.
    • Safari: Look for "History" > "Reopen Last Closed Tab" or "Reopen Last Closed Window". See more about Safari.
  • Session Restore (after Browser Crash): If your browser crashed, it may offer to restore your previous session upon restart. Look for a prompt asking if you want to restore your previous session.

  • History: If the above methods fail, you can always browse your browser's history to find the URLs of the pages you had open. See more about browser%20history.

  • Tab Management Extensions: Some browser extensions are designed specifically for tab management, including saving and restoring sessions. See more about browser%20extensions.
